And Action:
Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook over very low heat for about 25 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Mash lightly with a potato masher or purée in a food processor, if desired.

What a gorgeous applesauce - so healthy with the addition of berries! Your Itty Bitty is lucky to have a mom making homemade applesauce for him.
Jeanette - The color is so vibrant and the flavor is incredible.Thank you for that kind compliment.
I love berry applesauce. What a yummy healthy treat. Personally, I also like to freeze mine so it becomes almost like a granita.
I love the touch of berries in this applesauce! Definitely going to try it with my next batch of blueberries =)
Lisa - I tried it cold today and preferred it warmed up. I normally like my applesauce in the cups you buy at the store at room temperature.
Peggy - If you try this you'll have to let me know how you liked it.
Definitely love the berries combined with the applesauce. Very nice flavor. And I love that your Mom made homemade applesauce for you as kids. We usually had the jar stuff..lol. A while back I decided to make it myself. I think it turned out pretty good - did it up in the Crock Pot. Might have to try that with this!
We always have homemade applesauce at my in-laws. SO yummy! I love the idea of adding berries...so pretty and tasty~
Brandie - I was lucky in my teen years to get to have my mama at home. She was a very good homemaker. Nice to take a play from her book.
Lizzy - The berries gave it such a wonderful flavor. I love the health benefits in the berries.
